Internationally renowned guitarist/composer/recording artist Mimi Fox will take the stage as the Hot & Cool: Jazz at the Brubeck Room concert series continues Saturday, March 5, at the Wilton Library . The concert gives the former Westporter an opportunity to perform in her old stomping grounds of Fairfield County.
It is such a nostalgia trip for me seeing the places and neighborhoods of my childhood. Im very much looking forward to this performance, Fox says in a library statement. After graduating from Staples High School, she began touring and eventually moved to the San Francisco area. She has performed around the world, including in Japan, Thailand, Australia and more. Her resume stateside includes the Blue Note in New York City, the Kennedy Center and Blues Alley in Washington, D.C., the Triple Door in Seattle, and the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco.
Fox is touring to support Live at the Palladium, a recently released DVD. Copies of the DVD will be available for people to buy and have signed by Fox at a reception after the March 5 concert.
The concert is free, but a $10 per person donation is suggested at the door. Registration is recommended to guarantee a seat. But after 7:20 p.m., the library will allow walk-ins and wait-listed guests to take available seats. The concert is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
