WESTPORT, Conn. – Foreigner, the legendary rock band, is set to rock the Staples High School field house in Westport this Saturday during the Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts’ annual summer gala, which helps to support the Levitt's free summer concert series.

The gala performance is usually held outdoors, behind the Westport Library. However, due to construction on a new, modern and permanent pavilion facility , the site is off-limits. But this year’s gala performance won’t be any less spectacular than in years past.

“We are thrilled to be presenting these rock icons, especially for our most important fundraiser of the year,” said Freda Welsh, executive director of the Levitt Pavilion. “An evening with Foreigner will not only be a super exciting experience for all who attend, the proceeds we raise that night will help underwrite our free summer season — featuring 10 weeks of concerts and events.”

Originally formed in 1976, Foreigner has produced 10 multi-platinum albums, 16 “Top 30” hits and was ranked 49th on Billboard’s “Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists” list.

Now made up of founder and lead guitarist Mick Jones, lead vocalist Kelly Hansen, bass guitarist Jeff Pilson, multi-instrumentalist Tom Gimbel, keyboardist Michael Bluestein and drummer Mark Schulman, the band will perform some of its greatest hits, such as “Urgent,” “I Want to Know What Love is,” “Double Vision,” “Hot Blooded,” “Feels Like the First Time,” “Cold As Ice,” “Head Games,” “Juke Box Hero” and more.

During the concert, members of the Staples High School Orphenians, the school’s premier choral ensemble, will join Foreign in singing “I Want to Know What Love Is,” Levitt officials said.

There are three main levels of tickets available for concert-goers: patron seating, preferred seating and premium seating. Tickets for patron seating are $70 and preferred seats are $95.

Tickets for premium seats are $250 and include a pre-concert cocktail party featuring an open bar and hors d’oeuvres, plus access to a post-concert party. These tickets also include priority entry into the concert.

For more ticket options, information or to buy tickets, visit the Levitt Pavilion website . Tickets can also be purchased by calling 866-811-4111. A limited number of tickets may be available at the door the night of the performance.

Doors will open at 8 p.m., and the concert will begin at 9 p.m. The Staples field house is located at 70 North Ave.
