Mandy Heffernan and Lauren Schenk of Wilton learned there was more to a fine arts festival than just stuffy old paintings of fruit. They got a chance to play with the palette of one of the festivals most colorful personalities, the white mime.
The mime moved through the weekend festival, striking poses and performing as a living statue. He would playfully dab color at trees and the river and interact with the public while noiselessly letting his smile do the talking for him.
Of course, playful pantomime wasn't all there was for the kids to enjoy. The Westport Arts Center set up a face-painting booth, and there were magic shows and balloon animals as well.
Maggie Ancker, daughter of Kirsten and Walter Ancker of Norwalk, even found her beat dancing to one of the many musical performances at the festival.
