Fairfield County Teen Seeks Ton Of Food Donations For Eagle Scout Project

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – A local Boy Scout from Troop 11 in Fairfield County is mounting food drive for nonperishable food items at the Stop & Shop in Seymour on Sunday, July 26.

Scout Andrew Zehall is a candidate for becoming an Eagle Scout, and the food drive is part of his overall project.

The Seymour High School senior will be aided by Seymour First Selectman Kurt Miller in collecting items, along with other Boy Scouts and troop leaders.

The Stop & Shop is located at 15 Franklin St. in Seymour, and the drive runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. 

Zehall's aim is to collect at least one ton of nonperishable items for the Spooner House homeless shelter and food bank in Shelton. Spooner House is located at 30 Todd Road.
