Westport Sunrise Rotary's race of the rubber ducks on the Saugatuck River took place this afternoon. People who bought tickets were assigned a duck and the proceeds go to charity. Crowds watched as the ducks, finally, made it to the finish line. They were launched into the Saugatuck River just north of the Ruth Steinkraus Cohen Bridge. 400-foot booms were used to try to keep them in line. When they were pulled away, the current and wind did their own scattering of the ducks. There were family activities, including crafts as well as music, in Parker Harding Plaza for the event.
