Noyce is pursuing a general studies degree at Bridgeport through its IDEAL program, and hopes to someday find a job in the medical field when she completes her studies. The online courses available through UB made it especially attractive, Noyce said.
“I had heard a commercial about Bridgeport and since I work full-time, I needed something that works with my schedule,’’ she said. “The online component was a really big part. My schedule is so crazy I don’t always know when I’ll get off work.”
What surprised Noyce was the ease with which she enrolled. “I went in for a welcome meeting with a few other prospective students, and chatted about what the IDEAL program was,’’ Noyce said. “I made the decision to attend about two weeks later, and two weeks after that I was scheduled. It didn’t take long at all.”
Noyce had been enrolled in college previously, but the enrollment process at Bridgeport was far easier than her last experience. “Any time I had a question, they had the answer,’’ she said. “It was very little effort. It was a lot harder when I went to school before.”
Noyce is prepared for the long haul. She expects to obtain her degree in approximately six years while she works full-time. “I’m hoping by the time I’m 40 I’ll have finished all my classes,’’ she said. “It’s going to take time, but it will be worth it.”
