Integral to her disciplined compositions is the interaction of color and its ability to evoke an emotional response. For Evans, creativity is a family trait. Her father, a noted WPA artist, worked on the famous Coit Tower murals in San Francisco.
Evans studied graphic design at the University of Bridgeport and continued her education at the Parsons School of Design, Yale University and the Center for Contemporary Printmaking in Norwalk. Her graphic design work has been recognized with awards from Print magazine and the Business/Professional Advertising Association. Her art work also has been shown in numerous juried exhibitions.
The Cooper & Smith Gallery is at 10 Main St., Essex.
