WESTPORT, Conn. – One of the nation’s leading experts on the Middle East and Iran will speak at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at The Conservative Synagogue of Westport, Weston and Wilton.
The synagogue is located at 30 Hillspoint Road in Westport.
Ilan Berman, vice president of the American Foreign Policy Council, will present “Volatility in the Middle East – Radical Islam, the Iranian Threat and Their Impact on Israel’s Security,” speaking about Israel’s security in the face of ISIS and other Islamist groups in the region.
Westport residents Jason and Dana Mandel are co-sponsoring the event with the UJA/Federation of Westport, Weston, Wilton, Norwalk and Eastern Fairfield County.
An expert on regional security in the Middle East, Berman has consulted for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency and the U.S. Department of Defense. Berman is a frequent guest on news programs and has been called one of “America’s leading experts on the Middle East and Iran.”
