Check Out Weston's Farming Past at Library

WESTON, Conn. – Westonites can get a rare glimpse of the town’s early farming history next month when the Weston Public Library shows photographs and artworks by local artists.

“The Celebration of Farms and Farming” exhibit will include several historical images never before seen by the public, including the Lachat Farm, which was built by David Godfrey in 1770.

Weston artists showing their work include Margaret Wirtenberg, Auddrey Klotz, Andy Neilly, Bobbie Eike Mullen, Ellin Spadone, Laura Wilk, Liz Ward and Georgiana Silk. Some of the historical paintings of the Lachat Farm will be on loan from Alex Shook and Carolyn Blackburn Klahr.

The event, which is sponsored by Friends of Lachat, will run from Jan. 8 to 27 in the Community Room of the library. A reception will be held on Jan. 8 from 3 to 5 p.m.
