FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Pequot Library sits approximately 800 miles from Churchill Downs. But the Fairfield library and the Kentucky racetrack will bear a striking similarity Saturday afternoon. Pequot is again hosting a Derby Day celebration in honor of the 138th running of the Kentucky Derby.

The afternoon’s events, which run from 4-7 p.m., are a fundraiser for the private library. A $300 donation gets you a reserved spot for your own tailgate, plus four individual tickets to the derby party. Individual tickets just for the party are $60 each. Guests are encouraged to don their best Derby Day attire, and there will be prizes for Best Hat and Best Tailgate.

For more information, contact Robin Jerrild at 203-259-0346, ext 13 or jerrild@pequotlibrary.org. You can also buy tickets online at the library’s website.
