Carolers Bring Joy to Downtown Westport

Caroling voices filled the frigid air on Main Street in Westport Saturday afternoon as the Harbor Blues, an a cappella group from Greens Farms Academy, entertained shoppers and passersby.

But caroling was just one of the day's attractions. Santa Claus and horse-drawn carriage rides were two other big hits at the holiday event, organized by the Westport Downtown Merchants Association.

If you couldn't make it downtown this weekend to enjoy the  festivities, the Downtown Merchants Association is doing it all over again this Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m.

Catch up with Santa, take a free ride around downtown on the horse-drawn carriage, listen to the carolers and buy a cup of hot cocoa or hot cider. Proceeds from hot cocoa sales will benefit Builders Beyond Borders and hot cider sales will benefit Staples Teen Awareness Group (TAG), Toquet Hall, Staples Club Green and the Service League of Boys (SLOBs).
