Without setting foot on an airplane, Westport newlyweds Ted Klineberg and Ronni Eisenberg took a trip to Louisiana on Saturday night a musical trip, that is.
The Hartford-based band River City Slim & The Zydeco Hogs brought the colorful sounds of Louisiana bayous to a crowded Levitt Pavilion.
Eisenberg said she and her husband had never heard of the band but attended the concert out of curiosity.
"It was a spur-of-the-moment decision," Eisenberg said. "It sounded interesting."
Sitting under the clear sky enjoying the music, Eisenberg described the night as "a perfect night for cornbread and couscous," using lyrics from one of the band's songs.
Though it was the first concert they have attended this year, the two have gone to numerous concerts over the years at the pavilion and love it.
"It's a beautiful spot," Eisenberg said. "The concerts are free. It's outdoors, and it really brings people together. It's nice."
