Westport Playhouse announced that David B. Byrd has been hired as its new Director of Marketing. Previously, he was Director of Marketing and Communications for Duke University's American Dance Festival and prior to that, was Yale Repertory Theatre's Associate Managing Director. Byrd has a Master of Fine Arts degree in theater management from the Yale School of Drama and a BA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In his new position, he is responsible for Westport Playhouse's organizational marketing initiatives.
