Rodney leaves behind an 8-year-old daughter, a wife, and his mother. Coworkers of his wife Kimone Waite have set up a GoFundMe campaign to help assist with the funeral costs for Rodney. Any funds remaining after the funeral costs will be placed into a trust fund for Rodney's daughter.

In the first 22 hours of the campaign, nearly $3,000 of the $30,000 goal had been raised.
