Boas Details Foundation's Work

Westporter Andrew Boas, founder of the Charter Oak Challenge Foundation, is guest speaker at Westport Sunrise Rotary's July 9 breakfast meeting, which is open to the public. He will talk about how the Foundation works to create better futures for underserved children in the greater Bridgeport area with educational programs and by partnering with advocacy organizations working to provide equal opportunities for students. “As active philanthropists, we believe the most transformative action we can undertake to erase poverty in local communities is to educate children, especially in low performing districts," Boas says.  Boas will elaborate on how college scholarship programs, charter schools and other initiatives the Foundation has created are bringing its goals closer. The Rotary's meeting takes place at 7:30 a.m. at Bobby Q's Restaurant, 42 Main Street, Westport. For more information, visit the Rotary's website.
