Be A Better Babysitter Through Westport Fire Department Course

WESTPORT, Conn. — The Westport Fire Department is offering a babysitter safety course for young people interested in being able to keep their tiny charges healthy and safe.

The course is open to Westport residents between the ages of 12 and 18.

Course topics include babysitter basics and responsibilities, identifying hazards, fire safety, outdoor safety and basic first aid and CPR certification.

Course dates are Nov. 4, 11 and 18 and Dec. 2 and 9. The classes run from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

Classes will be held at the Westport Fire Headquarters, 515 Post Road East, and at Westport Emergency Medical Services, 50 Jesup Road.

The cost is $25 for the CPR/First Aid book.

Class size is limited to the first 16 registered.

To register, call the Westport Fire Marshal’s office at 203-341-5020 by Oct. 30.
