Breaking News: Felon Caught With Firearm During Fairfield Traffic Stop, Police Say

Avoid Floods in Westport Train Station Lots

WESTPORT, Conn. – Commuters who park at the Saugatuck train station are being urged by the Westport Police Department not to park their vehicles in the low-lying parking lots or to move their vehicles from those areas before Hurricane Irene hits the area.

Low-lying parking lots include Lot 5 on Riverside Avenue, which is adjacent to the Saugatuck River, and Lot 1 on Charles Street. Both of these parking lots have the potential to flood, especially with the heavy rains predicted.

The lower part of Lot 3 on Ferry Lane also could flood. The lots located on higher ground, such as Lot 8 on Saugatuck Avenue near the Exit 17 on ramp and the upper portion of Lot 3 on Ferry Lane, should be safe from flooding.
