Animals Seek Homes in Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – If you've been thinking about adding a pet to your family, Westport Animal Shelter Advocates has several dogs and cats, available for adoption.

Among the adoptees is Diesel, a 6-year-old Lab-pit mix. He is described as "a good boy" who greets everyone he meets with a wagging tail. Diesel has a calm nature and while he gets along well with other dogs, should be placed in a cat-free home.

Max, a 9-year-old German shepherd, is also available for adoption. He's described as a gentle, curious, intelligent and affectionate dog who behaves well around other dogs.

Fiat, a 10-month-old miniature pinscher-Chihuahua mix, was rescued from Bridgeport Animal Control. He is described as a "fun little guy that loves chasing a tennis ball, romping with other small dogs and snuggling." Fiat is curious and not timid or skittish.

Also looking for a new family is William, a 4-year-old shepherd mix who was rescued from Fairfield Animal Control, where he ended up after the death of his owner. William is described as a calm and easy-going dog that "goes with the flow." He gets along great with other dogs and people of all ages. William has epilepsy and requires daily medication (one pill twice a day in his food).

For additional information about any of these dogs or to schedule a meeting, contact Westport Animal Shelter Advocates at or call 203-557-0361.

The shelter is also looking to find homes for four kittens. These kittens, two boys and two girls, are approximately 10 to 12 weeks old. For more information about them, send an email to .
