Alice Lipson taught legions of students to sing during her 35 years as a Westport vocal music teacher, including many at Staples High School. She retired this June. Lipson is the guest speaker at the Westport Sunrise Rotary Club's June 25 7:30 a.m. breakfast meeting at Bobby Qs Restaurant. The breakfast is open to non-Rotary members.
Lipson spent the last 22 years as choral director at Staples High School where each year, over 200 young singers participate in choral ensembles. She also taught music theory and worked as vocal director for the Staples Players annual musical theatre production. Prior to Staples, she taught at the junior high/middle school level for 13 years. For non-members, the cost of attending the breakfast meeting is $12 which includes a breakfast buffet. Bobby Q's is located at 42 Main Street, Westport.
