Westport's Granola Bar Featured In CBS Segment On Hot Honey

WESTPORT, Conn. -- It may be cold outside, but inside The Granola Bar in Westport it's hot, hot, hot. And that's not just because this year-old eatery serves oversized mugs of cappuccino, hot chocolate and green tea lattes.

The restaurant was recently featured on a CBS segment highlighting Mike's Hot Honey, a super hot (in more ways that one) hot sauce created by a part-time pizza apprentice.

The sauce uses wildflower honey harvested from New York and New Jersey along with chili peppers and is used on The Granola Bar's candied turkey bacon deviled eggs and spicy avocado dressing. Owners Julie Levitt of Weston and Dana Noorily also recommend it in hot tea or in a bottle to take home.
