Westports newest boutique, Casa Ryan, lit up the evening on Nov. 17, as beauty devotees gathered to celebrate the grand opening. Casa Ryan is the latest addition to the glam storefront operated by hair stylist Jessica Ryan and her business partner Maria Casabianca. Billed as Home, Hair and What to Wear, Casa Ryan now offers hair, skin and make-up services, as well as a carefully edited selection of designer clothing, accessories and home décor.
It makes it very dangerous to come here, laughed Tracy Benton of Westport. Benton has trusted her locks to Ryan for over a year.
She started with hair, said Ryan as she shaped the back of Bentons cut. Then she started shopping the boutique for clothes.
And now Ill come for the home items, too, said Benton.
Guests sipped champagne and perused the stylish and sexy pieces, from cowhide rugs to and ornate chandeliers to French perfumes and skin care products. The entire space is textured and sensual, with a vibe that might best be described as relaxed luxury.
Obviously we have very similar tastes, Casabianca said of her partnership with Ryan. We choose the items well carry together, just based on what we love. Like this piece. Isnt this great? Casabianca pointed to an oversized black and white turtle triptych, a tag annoucing, SOLD, tucked into the bottom corner. We were going to have our grand opening a little sooner, but things were flying out of the store the minute we opened our doors. We had to get more merchandise in!
In addition to their in-house hair and make-up services, Ryan and Casabianca are also taking on design projects in clients homes and businesses.
People were asking for design services, said Casabianca. And Jessica has a real talent for it. So we offer that, too. Sometimes shell just bring in what she calls room changers -- one or two really great pieces that can make a room feel redesigned. Or sometimes shell start from scratch. It just depends on what the client wants.
Casa Ryan does not have a website yet, so youll just have to head down and see it for yourself. The store is located at 24 Railroad Place, across from the Westport train station.
