Westport Named Among Best Towns In State For Young Families

WESTPORT, Conn. — Westport is considered one of the best places in the state to raise a family, according to a recent study conducted by NerdWallet, a consumer advocacy website.

For the study, NerdWallet analyzed national and statewide data to determine the best places in Connecticut for raising a family. Of the 15 towns and cities that made the list, Westport ranked at No. 10. Orange took the No. 1 spot, followed by Trumbull and then Newington.

Other Fairfield County communities that made the list are Darien, which ranked at No. 6; and Shelton, at No. 11.

The rankings were based on a number of factors, including quality of the town’s public schools, which was measured on a scale from 1 to 10— 10 being the highest. Westport’s schools received a 10.

In addition to quality of schools, affordability and growth were also factored into the rankings.
