The first program is the fourth annual Teen Photography Contest for Fairfield County residents entering grades 6-12 in the fall. The contest will run from June 1 to July 8. Entries will be judged by the library’s first Artist-in-Residence Miggs Burroughs and will appear in an exhibit in the lower-level Riverwalk Hallway from July 15 to Aug. 31.

Submissions can be made in the following categories: portrait, landscape and experimental. The submission deadline is Friday, July 8. Email high-resolution images to westportteenphoto@gmail.com.

The award ceremony will be Friday, July 15, from 5-6 p.m. in the library’s McManus Room.

The second program is "Interviewing for Your First Job or Internship." This will be Monday, June 6, at 7 p.m. in the McManus Room.

Peggy Marx and Kyrie Stillman of Career Interview Counselors will lead a workshop on how to prepare for an interview—including researching the company and interviewer, positioning yourself and developing key talking points.

Strategies on how to align and leverage key strengths compared to the job description will be reviewed.

Marx is the owner and founder of consulting groups Mon Amie and Career Interview Counselors. Stillman, who has worked for Kraft, Cuisinart, Corning, London Fog, Bally Shoes and BhS (British Home Stores), is co-founder of Career Interview Counselors.
