WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport residents can learn to make a fall minestrone soup using organic ingredients from Wakeman Town Farm's gardens in a Soup & Bread Workshop led by chef Craig Charlton on Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to noon.
Participants will make and enjoy the meal. After the workshop, they will be able to take home the ingredient lists and recipes.
The soup will be made with an all-vegetable stock and accompanied by a grilled herbed flatbread.
Chef Charlton, a Westport native, is the chef and owner of Trattoria 225 in Oak Park, Ill.
He uses farm fresh, seasonal ingredients and community involvement has always been in the forefront of his sustainable practices.
