WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport Arts Center is set to present Halloween Family Art Day on Sunday.
The event is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Westport Arts Center, 51 Riverside Ave. in Westport, according to a news release. Family Art Day is a "wonderful opportunity for families to engage in quality art activities in a creative community environment. Children, parents, and grandparents will create dynamic art projects together at interactive workshop stations facilitated by local teaching artists," according to the release.
Director of Education Danielle Ogden said in the release that she is looking forward to the return of the event.
“We are so excited to bring back ‘Family Art Day’ and present whole families with an afternoon full of fun art projects and inspiration," Ogden said in the release. "It is a special time for families to share and bond through interactive art experiences.”
Families will be supplied with "an array of engaging art materials for projects ranging from simple drawing to three-dimensional building, providing something for everyone to enjoy," according to the release.
Families are invited to come in costume and a special "Kids Zone" will be available from program sponsor Melissa & Doug toy company, according to the release.
“I’m especially looking forward to the haunted birdhouses,” said Education Assistant Sarah Kelly in the release. “As it connects with our current members’ exhibition ‘Home Sweet Home.’”
Admission to the “Halloween Family Art Day” at the Arts Center is $10 per child. Adults and children under the age of two receive free admission, according to the release.
