The fundraiser is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the Westport Arts Center. Guests are invited to Sip, Savor, and seek all the wonders that the Westport Arts Center offers. WONDERland guests are invited to celebrate the Queen of Arts Ann Sheffer at a cocktail reception and dinner prior to the party.
"WONDERland will be a celebration to kick off the spring season and welcome back the blossoming flowers," Westport Arts Center representatives said. "Don’t miss this exciting event that will be sure to dazzle and delight guests."
The art center will honor Sheffer as the Queen of Arts. Sheffer, a founding member of the Westport Arts Center when it merged with the Westport/Weston Arts Council, "is a champion of the arts on a local, state, and national level," representatives said.
"Guests will enjoy a whimsical night of mystery, surprise, art, and entertainment as the art center unveils their interpretation of WONDERland," representatives said. "This gala is sure to provide an encounter into the creative energy that makes the Westport Arts Center one of the key forces in the arts in our community and in the state of Connecticut."
The cocktail reception and dinner are set for 5:30 p.m. for $500 and the Sip, Savor, and Seek at the WONDERland party begins at 8 p.m. for $225.
“We are thrilled to be co-chairing this year’s annual fundraiser for the arts center," said Westport Arts Center board member and co-chair Kristen Briner and Westporter co-chair Cailtin Burke.
"The arts are such an integral part of our community and the Westport Arts Center continues to connect our community to the arts with visual arts, programs, outreach, and education. An unexpected journey through WONDERland is sure to be the event of the spring season and we are excited and honored to be part of this very important fundraiser for the arts center."
The WONDERland event sponsor is Gary Cosgrave. Entertainment for the evening is sponsored by Bill and Jodi Felton, the honoree dinner is sponsored by Westport Resources, with the live and silent online auctions sponsored by The Saugatuck Group, and the bar sponsored by MadisonMott.
