The school year’s first middle school night will be Friday, Sept. 23, at 6 p.m. for students in grades 6 to 8. Felt will perform along with Kristina Lachaga.

One of Felt's favorite songs she composed was "Believe" and it's all about people learning how to believe in themselves. "I write a lot of my songs in hope that in times of deepest despair we all will reach into our hearts and 'Believe' in all the love and goodness in the world and most of all — in ourselves," said Felt, a local musician who brings positive message and energy to her performances.

Rising star Kristina Lachaga has shared the stage with many artists, including Olivia Holt, Heffron Drive, Skylar Stecker, X Factor's Bea Miller, and stars from Disney and Nickelodeon at concerts and events up and down the East Coast.

On Saturday, Sept. 24, Staples High’s homecoming weekend, Toquet Hall will welcome back SHS graduate James Allison and his synth-pop band Digisaurus.

Headlining the show will be Air Traffic Controller. Its latest album, "Black Box," features "The House," which won the 2016 New England Music Award for Best Video and has been featured in rotation on MTVU, MTV2, and on the homepage of Funny Or Die.

Rounding out the lineup will be American Opera, a folk-pop band that appeared on the Vans Warped Tour and at the SXSW festival.

Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door.

Toquet Hall is a supervised drug/alcohol-free space where middle school and high school age youth participate in social, cultural, recreational and educational activities. It opened in 1998.
