Weston, which was ranked No. 2 on the list, has a median family income of $275,154 and a median home price of $755,000.
"In picturesque Weston, you can see your neighbors if you're feeling sociable, but you don't necessarily have to,” the report said. "Well-heeled locals enjoy the privacy of sprawling estates, thanks to zoning that makes the minimum lot size here a roomy 2 acres.
"Residents often compare Weston to nearby Westport but find they can get more house for the money here. Meanwhile, an outstanding small school system gives students the feel of private education at a public school price."
It also cites the area's 1,700-acre nature preserve for hiking, birding and cross-country skiing but acknowledges its lack of shopping.
In New Canaan, which was ranked No. 5, the average yearly income for families is $236,758 and the average home price is $1.33 million in the town of 20,140, the post said.
“From the manicured lawns of its substantial homes, to the green space in its parks, to a bustling downtown, New Canaan has a lot to offer,” the report said, adding that it has attracted commuters due to its proximity to Stamford and New York City.
