Enjoy Birthday Parties In The Treetops At The Adventure Park in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Cakes and balloons are so 'last year' when it comes to birthday parties. Instead of blowing out the candles on their special day, children can swing from the treetops thanks to the birthday packages available at The Adventure Park at The Discovery Museum in Bridgeport.

The Labyrinth offers younger climbers the chance to explore the Adventure Park At The Discovery Museum during birthday parties.

The high-altitude fun is available for weekend and weekday rates as guests enjoy a two hours of climb time across 5+ acres of arial courses. No birthday is complete without food, and guests are welcome to bring cake, pizza or other outside treats into the park.

As for climbing itself, the staff are constantly making improvements to provide maximum fun. "We’ve learned over the years what works and what doesn’t work, and we have changed elements every year," said business operations manager, Karen O'Halloran.

For instance, The Labyrinth was recently introduced to the park, and has been a hit with younger climbers. "It's basically a two story structure in the park away from the main platforms," said O'Halloran. "We call it a mini-adventure park, and designed it for kids ages five to eight. Parents have their own picnic tables and can throw a party for children too young to experience the larger elements of the park." Thanks to the smaller size, parents can keep an eye on their children as they climb. "Parents like having the area to themselves," said O'Halloran.

No matter the birthday party, every climbing guest goes home with a complimentary goodie bag, courtesy of the park. This year's gifts include a gym back filled with a baseball hat, flashlight and carabiner.

Birthdays are open for any ages, and can be held in either the main park or The Labyrinth. Parties must include a minimum of eight guests and maximum of 15. As with any park visit, non-climbing family and friends are always admitted free. For more information, visit The Adventure Park at The Discovery Museum's website.
