The workshop starts on Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 6 p.m. The second workshop is on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m.

Temlock will discuss retirement and how it affects everyone differently. People who have been in high-level positions may develop stress, anxiety, and a sense of loss. He will talk about how to manage expectations and create a strategy for a productive retirement.

The first session will take places in Westport Library’s McManus Room.

This two-part program is free and intended for individuals and couples who have recently retired or plan to retire in the next five to 10 years. A retirement questionnaire will be used for self-assessment.

The second session will also take place in the McManus Room, and will include a screening of the movie “About Schmidt.”

Temlock is a licensed psychologist who holds master's and doctorate degrees from Columbia University in organizational psychology. He is a professor at Teachers College at Columbia University. He advises in the areas of leadership, organization design, succession, team development, communications, rewards strategies and executive development.
