Book Signing to Benefit Westport Farm

WESTPORT, Conn. - Local celebrity chefs are teaming up outside the kitchen to benefit Westport’s Wakeman Town Farm.

John Barricelli, owner of SoNo Baking Company, host of the PBS show “Everyday Baking” and author of The SoNo Baking Company Cookbook will join Jason Sobocinski, owner of New Haven’s Caseaus restaurant, host of The Cooking Channel’s “The Big Cheese” and author of Caseus Fromagerie Bistro Cookbook will be at Barnes & Noble’s Westport location Sunday, May 6 at 11 a.m.

And these chefs are bringing more than a couple of Sharpies with them. The Caseus Cheese Truck, a rolling, roving gourmet grilled cheese-dispensing machine, will be parked out front to offer samples.

Wakeman Town Farm is an organic farm, designed and created “to educate the community with local healthy food production, responsible land stewardship, sustainable practices and community service orientation,” according to the farm’s website. The farm offers programs, workshops and summer camps for kids.

In the spirit of community, kids are also welcome at this event. (What kid doesn’t like a grilled cheese sandwich, after all?) A family friendly book fair will accompany the book signing and tasting.

The book fair opens at 10 a.m. and the book signing and Cheese Truck kick off at 11.

Barnes and Noble is located at 1076 Post Road East in the Post Plaza Shopping Center in Westport.
