WESTON, Conn. -- Wilton author Marcelle Soviero is hosting a special writing workshop in Weston on Nov. 6.
Soviero will teach the free workshop, "Writing Your Stories," at 10 a.m. Nov. 6 at JK Cafe, Cobb's Mill Inn's coffee house, according to a press release. Soviero is a Wilton author and editor-in-chief of Brain, Child: The Magazine for Thinking Mothers.
The writing workshop is set to "cover varied aspects of the writing process -- Journal Writing/Getting Starting, Crafting Personal Essays/Memoir Writing or Blogs, and publishing your short or full-length work," according to the release. Soviero is "an essayist whose forte is teaching memoir and personal essay writing," according to the release.
“Everyone has a story to tell. This workshop will take participants through a step-by-step writing process,” said Soviero in the release. "Students should be equipped to take notes and will come away with key writing essentials. Both novices and seasoned writers are invited to attend.”
Soviero teaches memoir writing and related topics at The Westport Writers’ Workshop, New Haven Library and through Wilton Continuing Education.
“I love the concept of capturing stories and the Cafe’s cozy atmosphere lends itself to this kind of workshop," said Elayne Cassara, owner of J.K. Cafe. "This area is home to many writers and I’m happy bring that community together over coffee and conversation.”
