WESTPORT, Conn. – A kayak tour out to Cockenoe Island, a Native American storyteller and the first-ever Westport Antique & Vintage Market highlight this weekend in Westport. Here’s a look at some of the events planned through Sunday. To see a full listing of events, visit our Events page.

Friday, Aug. 17

Art Café Happy Hour: 6 to 7 p.m. Gather in the Westport Arts Center Gallery for a festive, art-themed Happy Hour. Guests are encouraged to bring their own beverage. Free and open to the public. Westport Arts Center, 51 Riverside Ave.

DNR Concert: 8 to 9:30 p.m. DNR, an eight-member band primarily made up of doctors, is bringing its brand of classic rock and roll to the Levitt Pavilion. The band focuses on music from the '60s and '70s, playing the music of such artists like Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones, Van Morrison and the Beatles. Rock sounds of the 80s and 90s and classic jazz are also worked in their concerts. Free. Levitt Pavilion, 40 Jesup Road.

Live Music Fridays: 9 p.m. Enjoy live music, food and drinks at Oaxaca Kitchen every Friday night this month. This week's featured band is Ship of Fools. No cover. Oaxaca Kitchen, 376 Post Road E.

Saturday, Aug. 18

Kayak Tour: 1 to 3:30 p.m. Paddle off Westport’s shore during the Westport Historical Society’s third-annual Cockenoe Island kayak tour. The tour starts at Longshore Sailing School and ends with a stroll on the island, where kayakers will hear about its history. David Park, board member of the Norwalk River Watershed Association and author of the guidebook “Kayaking in and around the Norwalk Islands,” will led the tour. Intermediate level kayak ability is required. Cost is $18 Westport Historical Society members and $20 for all others. For more information, visit the historical society website. Native American Storyteller: 6 p.m.  Hear about the Native American history behind Sherwood Island Nature Center’s Three Sisters Garden from Native American storyteller Trudie Richmond. A member of the Schaghticoke Tribal Nation Richmond, will be dressed in native regalia as she talks about the legend of the Three Sisters and offers insight into the lifestyles of the Algonquin and Iroquois people who live in the area.  Visitors will also see and be able to touch cornhusk dolls and other traditional objects. Free. Sherwood Island Nature Center, Sherwood Island State Park.

The Wiggins Sisters: 8 to 9:30 p.m. Catch a concert by the Wiggins Sisters, a country blues and folk duo known for their lyrics and harmonization. The sisters have won various songwriting awards. Free. Levitt Pavilion. 40 Jesup Road.

Sunday, Aug. 19

Westport Antique & Vintage Market: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Spend the day in Saugatuck browsing the first-ever Westport Antique & Vintage Market at Luciano Park. The market will showcase 30 dealers exhibiting a variety of merchandise, including industrial furniture, farm and garden antiques, mid-century modern, vintage jewelry, linens and clothes, pottery, ceramics, and more. Cost is $2 for adults. Proceeds to benefit Homes With Hope, a Westport nonprofit that supports the homeless. Luciano Park.

Navy Band Northeast: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Don’t miss a performance by the Navy Band Northeast, one of 13 official bands of the U.S. Navy. The 45-member command was established in 1974 and offers a variety of musical entertainment, from the sounds of a traditional military marching band, to the swing of jazz, chamber music, and contemporary and popular music of today. Free. Levitt Pavilion, 40 Jesup Road.
