Rosh Hashanah: In observance of Rosh Hashanah, Westport Public Schools are closed.
Foodies: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Check out Foodies, a food-themed exhibit at the Westport Arts Center that features work in all media selected by food industry celebrities with ties to the local community. The exhibit will be juried by Pat Callaghan of Pepperidge Farms, Stew Leonard of Stew Leonards, Michel Nischan of The Dressing Room, and Bill Taibe, owner of Le Farm and The Whelk. College 101: 7 to 9 p.m. Confused about the college process? Come hear a panel of college consultants present information and answer questions. Jobseeker Special: 10 to 11:30 a.m. Henning Seip, founder of the job search site Krazoom.com, will share tips on the best ways to use the site. Once a job seeker has created a profile using wording for skills and education as listed in actual job postings, Krazoom finds current jobs that match. Free. Ethics Code Discussion: 7 to 9 p.m. The League of Women Voters is announcing its proposal for the adoption of an ethics code for Westport at a community meeting. The meeting is intended to bring the issue to the publics attention and to seek support for a petition to the Representative Town Meeting for adoption of an ethics code for the town. Free. Thursday, Sept. 20
Westport Farmers Market: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Its all about supporting the local economy at the Westport Farmers Market. You can find fresh produce, artisan meats and cheeses, freshly baked goods, organic foods, clothing and more. Free admission. Imperial Avenue parking lot.

Laughter on the 23rd Floor: 8 p.m. Westport Community Theatre opens its new season with the Neil Simon comedy "Laughter on the 23rd Floor." Directed by Lester Colodny, the show is set in 1953 and follows a team of social misfits as they write a weekly variety program. The characters are based on people Simon worked with, such as Carl Reiner, Mel Brooks, and Sid Caesar. Show runs through Sept. 30.
