WESTPORT, Conn. — The Westport Library’s 20th annual summer book sale continues Monday and Tuesday, and the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus is coming to town Wednesday. Also this week, the Westport Arts Center is hosting a groovy ’80s dance party fundraiser at Shake Shack on Thursday. Here’s a look at some events planned for this week.

Monday, July 23

Library Book Sale: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Browse through books, videos, DVDs, audio books, CDs and more at the 20th annual Friends of the Westport Library summer book sale. All items are half-price. Cash, checks and credit cards accepted. The sale continues Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., when all items are free. Donations of $5 per bag are suggested Tuesday. Westport Library, 20 Jesup Road.

Tuesday, July 24

Literary Salon: 6:30 p.m.to 7:30 p.m. John L. Locke, Ph.D., author of books on gossip, eavesdropping and other aspects of human communication, will speak at “Books Worth Talking About” in the Lucille Lortel White Barn Center at Westport Country Playhouse. The discussion will be followed by an 8 p.m. performance of Molière’s comedy “Tartuffe,” in which eavesdropping and gossip are themes. Free. 102nd Army Band: 8 p.m. As Goodwill Ambassadors, the 102nd Army Band of the Connecticut Army National Guard perform a variety of concerts, ceremonies and parades around the nation and overseas for dignitaries including Queen Elizabeth. The band is comprised of professional musicians from diverse backgrounds. Free. Levitt Pavilion, 40 Jesup Road.

Bindlestiff Family Cirkus: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Don’t miss acrobatics, aerialists, juggling and more as the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus brings its act to Westport’s Levitt Pavilion. This one of the Levitt’s ticketed events. Proceeds from this event will benefit the campaign for a new Levitt Pavilion. Food and drinks will be sold at the event. Tickets can be purchased online or by phone at 866-811-4111.

Thursday, July 26

Westport Farmers’ Market: 10 a.m.to 2 p.m. It’s all about supporting the local economy at the Westport Farmers’ Market. Find everything from fresh produce to artisan meats and cheeses, freshly baked goods, organic foods, clothing and more. Free admission. Imperial Avenue parking lot.

“Shake Your Groove” ’80s Dance Party Benefit: 8 p.m. Gather for dinner, dancing, drinks, interactive art, a silent auction and live arts experiences at Shake Shack to support education programs at the Westport Arts Center. Tickets are $80 for a Single Groove or $250 for Love Shack, which includes two tickets and a “swag bag” filled with surprise goodies. Octavio Brunetti Tango Ensemble: 7:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Learn basic tango dance moves and enjoy a concert by Octavio Brunetti, an Argentine tango pianist, as he leads a tango ensemble that thrills both dancers and listeners with its passionate and melodic sounds.
