Friday, Feb.15

Coffeehouse at The Wheeler's: 6 to 8 p.m. Enjoy sparkling wine and refreshments, a poetry reading and a live musical performance at this event featuring Fairfield poet and journalist Michael Juliano and singer/songwriter Suzanne Sheridan of Westport. $10 donations suggested. Reservations required; call 203-222-1424. Westport Historical Society, 25 Avery Place. 

Saturday, Feb. 16

Kids' Terrarium Workshop: 10 a.m. to noon: Kids can make their own, kid-friendly gardens under glass. $25 per person. Reservations required. Cost includes instruction and all materials.Terrain, 561 Post Road E.

Critter Encounters: 2:30 p.m. Take the family to Earthplace to meet some of the Earthplace animals,  take a trail walk or make a craft to bring home. Included with the cost of museum admission: Free to members, $5 to $7 for non-members. Earthplace, 10 Woodside Lane. 

Sunday, Feb. 17

Baby-Ready 2013: Noon to 4 p.m. Tips on how to get a newborn to sleep through the night and ways to baby-proof a home are only some of the topics to be discussed during this event for moms and dads to be. The event is organized by Sterling Care. Free. Destination Maternity, 180 Post Road E.
