“The Woman In Black:” 8 p.m. See the Westport Community Theatre production of “The Woman In Black,” a ghost story that begins on Christmas Eve. Based on the novel of the same name by Susan Hill, "The Woman in Black" tells the macabre tale of London solicitor Arthur Kipps, who travels to a remote part of England to settle the estate of a recently deceased client. The show continues through Dec. 9. Tickets are $18 to $20 and are available online or by calling the box office at 203-226-1983. Westport Community Theatre, 110 Myrtle Ave. (Westport Town Hall).
Saturday, Dec. 1
Christmas Tree Sale &Tree Lighting: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Need to buy a Christmas tree? Take the family down to Westport's Wakeman Town Farm to pick out a freshly cut Fraser Fir from Gilbertie’s Wholesale Farm in Easton. Also on sale will be decorated and non-decorated wreaths. At 5 p.m., the farm will host its first annual Christmas tree lighting, featuring a bonfire, free hot chocolate and cookies. Free. Wakeman Town Farm, 134 Cross Highway.
"The Nutcracker:" 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Treat the family to a performance of "The Nutcracker." This holiday classic is being performed by the Ballet Etudes Company, with special guests from the American Ballet Theatre. Other performances will be Sunday at the same times. Tickets are $35 and are available online . $18 children/student seats and $50 front row mezzanine tickets available by calling the Playhouse Box Office at 203-227-4177. Holiday House Tour: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tour the homes of five Westport artists during the Westport Historical Society's 26th annual Holiday House Tour. Tickets are $50 or $40 for Westport Historical Society members when purchased in advance. Tickets purchased on the day of the tour are $55. Tickets are available online or by calling the society at (203) 222-1424.
