WESTPORT, Conn. – The first week of October in Westport kicks off with the debut of a lunchtime café series at the Westport Arts Center, an “upcycling” craft workshop series at  Earthplace, Restaurant Week and several town meetings. To see more events happening this week, visit our Events page.

Monday, Oct. 1

Restaurant Week: Enjoy lunch or dinner out at one of 18 restaurants offering special prix fixed menus through Friday during Restaurant Week, hosted by the Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce. Each participating restaurant is also collecting canned/non-perishable goods for a food drive benefiting Homes With Hope. Lunch Café: 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Enjoy a free catered lunch and a discussion on food policy out on the deck at the Westport Arts Center as part of the Lunch Cafe fall series. Free. Westport Arts Center, 51 Riverside Ave.

Jobseekers Special: 7 to 9 p.m. Career consultants Erika Steffen and Rosemary Williams will provide tips on how to create new work and how to deal with the financial challenges of a career transition. Free. Westport Library, McManus Room, 20 Jesup Road.

Thursday, Oct. 4

Westport Farmers Market: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s all about supporting the local economy at the Westport Farmers Market. You can find fresh produce, artisan meats and cheeses, freshly baked goods, organic foods, clothing and more. Free admission. Imperial Avenue parking lot.

Upcycle Your Home: 6:30 to 9 p.m. Bring your favorite materials from home to repurpose into different projects during the Upcycle Your Home craft series at Earthplace. This Thursday, participants will make rugs. Class meets every other Thursday through Dec. 19. Cost is $350 ($40 material fee) or $280 ($40 material fee) for Earthplace members.
