Westport Road Runners Race : 8 a.m. This is the seventh race in the 10-race summer series. The distance is 6.85 miles. Compo Beach, Westport.
Kayak Tour, Cockenoe Westport's Treasure Island: 11: a.m. Visit Cockenoe, a small but environmentally important island and learn about the migratory birds and the ecological benefit to Long Island Sound of maintaining clean watersheds. Travel the 1 mile over open water under your own power – via kayak. The 2 ½-hour trek is led by David Park, an environmentalist with the Norwalk River Watershed Association and author of the guidebook “Kayaking in and Around the Norwalk Islands.” Cost is $20 per boat, or $18 for members. DJ Rekha: RiverSwing - Concert And Dance Lesson: 8 p.m. International sensation DJ Rekha merges the traditional Bhangra music of South Asia and the Hip-Hop beats of today. The performance takes audiences on a journey into the infectious expanding South Asian dance music genre known as Bhangra. She is joined by dance artist Gobind Singh and percussionist Dave Sharma.
