WESTPORT, Conn. – The annual Near & Far Aid Gala at Mitchells, a health and wellness expo and a family-friendly musical at the Westport Country Playhouse are some events happening this weekend in Westport. For more listings, visit our Events calendar.

Friday, March 1

Near & Far Aid Gala: 7 to 10 p.m. Help support needy families throughout Fairfield County while enjoying the sights, sounds and flavors of India during the Near and Far Aid Spring Gala at Mitchells of Westport. An after-party will be held from 10 p.m. to midnight for after-party ticket holders. Tickets and more information are available online. Mitchells, 670 Post Road E.

Saturday, March 2

March Into Health and Wellness Expo: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Get to know health and wellness providers in the community at this event hosted by the Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce. Entrance fee is $10 per person or $20 for a family. Christ & Holy Trinity Church, Branson Hall, 75 Church Lane.  

Gatsby Party: 7 to 10 p.m. Travel back in time to the 1920s at the Westport Library's "Great Gatsby" themed party. Festivities will include live Jazz, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and dancing. Sunday, March 3

Planning the Garden Workshop: 12:30 to 3 p.m. Learn how to start an organic vegetable garden in your backyard.Topics covered include garden types and designs, vegetable selection, planting schedules, garden layouts and soil basics. Cost is $25; register online. Wakeman Town Farm, 134 Cross Highway. 

“How I Became a Pirate:" 1 to 4 p.m. Westport Country Playhouse presents "“How I Became a Pirate," a family-friendly musical about a young boy who is recruited by a crew of pirates on quest to bury their treasure. Recommended for kids ages 6 to 10. Tickets are $18 and available online or by calling 203-227-4177. Westport Country Playhouse, 25 Powers Court.
