Westport's Wakeman Farm Hosts Canning Workshop

WESTPORT, Conn. – You can learn how to can and preserve your own home-grown fruits and vegetables at Wakeman Town Farm in Westport this Saturday.

During the three-hour workshop, participants will learn the basics of canning, as well as how to make jams and tomato sauce. Participants will also receive jars to take home. Cost for the workshop is $35 if pre-registered, or $40 at the door. Register online or reserve your spot by sending an email to wakemantownfarm@gmail.com.

The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. Wakeman Town Farm is located at 134 Cross Highway.

WESTPORT, Conn. – The Bridge Street swing bridge over the Saugatuck River in Westport will be closed Wednesday between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., Westport First Selectman Gordon Joseloff announced.

Man Charged In Theft From Westport Stop & Shop

WESTPORT, Conn. – A 50-year-old Bridgeport man was accused of shoplifting in Westport on Saturday after more than $100 in goods was stolen from Stop & Shop, police said.
