“Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers,” said state Sen. Tony Hwang (R-28) in a press release.

“They are of all ages and backgrounds," he added. "The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community. Westport’s Mini Maker Faire is truly a sight to behold.”

Organizers expect 6,000 people to attend this year, a significant increase from the 4,400 people who attended last year.

“The Maker Faire reflects Westport’s long heritage in fostering creativity and innovation,” said state Rep. Jonathan Steinberg (D-136) in a press release.

“The faire gets bigger and more diverse each year and I’m constantly amazed by the ingenuity demonstrated by makers of all ages," he added. “It gives us all hope for the future of our state and nation to see these makers create the prototypical acorns from which great oaks will someday grow.”

The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Westport Library, Jesup Green, and the Taylor parking lot in downtown Westport.
