WESTPORT, Conn. – Agatha Christie’s classic “The Mousetrap” will be presented as a Script-in-Hand play reading at the Westport Country Playhouse on Monday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m.
“The Mousetrap” is about a group of strangers, one of whom is a murderer, stranded in a boardinghouse during a snowstorm. The suspects include the newly married couple who run the house, a spinster with a curious background, an architect who seems better equipped to be a chef, a retired Army major, a strange man who claims his car has overturned in a drift and a jurist. A policeman arrives in skis after the jurist is killed and initiates an investigation probing everyone in the house. The cast includes Matthew Amendt of Playhouse’s “Tartuffe,” as Detective Sergeant Trotter; Heidi Armbruster, of “The Dining Room,” as Miss Casewell; and David Beach of “Room Service,” as Mr. Paravicini.
The director is Anne Keefe, playhouse associate artist and curator of the play reading series.
