WESTPORT, Conn. -- Author and sustainable foods advocate Christy Colasurdo will host a book signing and chat from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Barnes & Noble store in Westport.
Colasurdo says her new book, “The Connecticut Farm Table Cookbook,” which she co-wrote with Tracey Medeiros, celebrates not only backyard bounty but also “shines a light on the relationship between hardworking local farmers and chefs.”
It contains 150 homegrown recipes from around Connecticut, and also showcases the best of the Nutmeg State’s farm-inspired fare, the Westport resident says.
Colasurdo serves on the board of the Wakeman Town Farm and Sustainability Center in Westport. The award-winning writer is also a former special sections editor at New York magazine and the co-founder of a company that delivers produce from small Vermont farms to customers’ front doors.
Medeiros, a food writer, food stylist, and recipe developer/tester, is also the author of "The Vermont Farm Table Cookbook" and "Dishing Up Vermont."
Light refreshments, including local artisanal cheeses from The Fairfield Cheese Co., will be served at the book signing.
The Barnes & Noble store is located in Post Plaza Shopping Center, 1076 Post Road E., Westport.
