Westport United Way's Walk Through Park, Zoo Benefits Literacy Programs

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – A Walk In the Park to benefit the United Way’s Literacy programs will be held Saturday, March 29, at Beardsley Park in Bridgeport. The walk is hosted by the United Way of Coastal Fairfield County.

The United Way of Coastal Fairfield County serves the needs of people in Darien, Easton, Fairfield, New Canaan, Norwalk, Westport, Weston and Wilton, among others.

The inaugural 2-mile walk winds through Beardsley Park and visits the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport. The walk begins at 10 a.m.

The registration fee is $25 per family or $10 per family. People can also get pledges to support their walk.

People who attend the walk will enjoy educational games, family photos, coloring books, Zumba instruction, snacks and a raffle for a one year memberships to the zoo. Walkers will also receive free admission to the zoo.
