The breakfast is a prelude to Near & Far Aid’s annual Designer House Tour,  an event that showcases six professionally decorated homes in Southport and Westport. Proceeds from the day’s events will help support agencies and organizations that work to end poverty in Fairfield County.

The breakfast will take place from 9 to 10:30 a.m., and tickets are $75.  For more information on the event, go to www.NEARANDFARAID.ORG.

Hampton is also the author of two critically praised books: "The Language of Interior Design" and "Decorating in Detail." She will be available for a book signing of her recent book, "Decorating in Detail," after the presentation.

“We are thrilled to have Alexa Hampton as our 2015 Designer Breakfast guest speaker,” said Bitsy Higgins, president of Near & Far Aid, and a Westport resident.  “Alexa is a trailblazer, and she will educate, inspire and entertain the breakfast audience with her immense talents and her world-class experience. It’s the perfect way to kick off the 2015 Near & Far Aid Designer House Tour.”

Alexa Hampton is principal at Mark Hampton, a firm founded by her father in 1976. During his tenure at the helm of the firm, Mark Hampton was designated by journalists as an ‘Icon of American Design’ and was posthumously celebrated by Architectural Digest in 2010 as one of ‘The World’s Twenty Greatest Designers of All Time.’ Similarly, Alexa Hampton has become a visionary designer in her right, and in 1998 took over ownership and design leadership of the world famous firm.

Hampton is a perennial member of Architectural Digest’s AD100 and House Beautiful’s Top Designer list as well as a member of Elle Décor’s A-list. Hampton’s work is classic, and eclectic. Her involvement in design goes far past her position as featured designer of Mark Hampton. She is also on the board of trustees for the New York School of Interior Design, the New York Landmarks Conservancy and the Institute for Classical Architecture.
