ID Released For Long Island Boy Struck, Killed By SUV

A teenage boy who was killed after being struck by an SUV at a busy Long Island intersection has been identified.

The crash happened Sunday, Jan. 12 at 5:08 p.m. in Oceanside.

According to Nassau| County Police detectives, while attempting to cross Daly Boulevard on a bicycle, from the south side to the north side, the 14-year-old boy, now identified as Dylan Schuster, of Oceanside, was struck by a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox traveling westbound on Daly Blvd. in the vicinity of Long Beach Road. 

Schuster suffered multiple injuries and was transported by Oceanside Fire Department to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:21 p.m. by a hospital physician.

The driver remained at the scene and the vehicle was brake and safety checked.

The investigation is ongoing.
