TED Talk Speaker Coach To Address Y's Women In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Kate Bennis, a professional speaker coach who has coached dozens of speakers and oversaw the coaching for over 80 TED Talks, will share her expertise at the May 8 meeting of the Y’s Women at Temple Israel on Coleytown Road in Westport.

The event will begin at 10:45 a.m. with coffee and conversation, followed by the program at 11:30 a.m.

In her speaker coaching practice, Bennis focuses on helping clients to craft and deliver excellent talks and presentations, and to feel comfortable with cameras and the media.

A professional actor with 40 years’ experience in TV, film and stage, she has coached senior and mid-level leaders at American Express, AOL, Deloitte & Touche, the Federal Reserve Bank and the CIA, Harvard Business School Executive Education, Columbia University Executive Education, Darden Business School Executive Education and University College London.

She has served as Lead Coach for Charlottesville TEDx, an organizer of meetings dedicated to fostering learning and inspiration, where she oversaw coaching for TED Talks. While with the Ariel Group of Lexington, Massachusetts, she delivered trainings around the world, developed training curricula, and served as Director of Outreach.

The Y’s Women, founded in 1992, serves active and involved working and retired women in Fairfield County, and has a membership of more than 400 members.
