Runners, Walkers Can Join Fight Against Lyme In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Runners and walkers are encouraged to join the fight against Lyme and other tick-borne diseases in Westport on Sunday, April 6.

The sixth annual Walk/Run to Bite Back for a Cure will be held on Sunday, April 6, at Sherwood Island in Westport.

The sixth annual Walk/Run to Bite Back for a Cure on behalf of the Tick-Borne Disease Alliance will be held at the West Beach location at Sherwood Island State Park. The event will raise funds for research and awareness.

Registration and check in will begin at 8:30 a.m. The event will include a 3-mile and 6-mile run, as well as a 1-mile loop walk within the park. Opening remarks will be at 9 a.m. Runners will start at 9:30 a.m. followed by the walkers at 9:45 a.m.  Award ceremony for the runners and the highest fundraisers will be at 11:00 a.m. Information stations, music, food and more will be available.

Early registration fees are $25 per person and $70 per family. Guaranteed free T-shirt with early registration by March 15.  Online registration will close at midnight April 3.
