REDDING, Conn. -- Inspired by Mark Twain's "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County," the 18th annual Frog Frolic will get hopping on Saturday, May 4, in Redding.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Redding Community Center, 37 Lonetown Road. It will feature touch-a-truck, games, crafts, inflatables, food, a bubble garden, books and more.
The Fifth Annual Cake Walk - part of the Frog Frolic - will celebrate spring. Cakes will be judged solely on appearance. The top three in the adult and juvenile categories will be awarded ribbons. The cakes will be awarded as prizes in an old-fashioned cake walk game. All other cakes will be sold.
To enter a cake, email FrolicVolunteers@gmail.com. Cakes must be dropped off between 9 and 10 a.m. Saturday at the Community Center.
Volunteers are also needed from 9 to 10 a.m. for setup; from 9:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the first shift; from 12:45 to 4 p.m. for the second shift; and from 3:45 to 5:30 p.m. for cleanup. Email FrolicVolunteers@gmail.com to sign up.
